Carlton Lake Vista

  • No experience necessary.
  • All ages are welcome (minors must be accompanied on the lake by at least 1 adult)
  • Located just 15 miles south of Duluth, MN, our 1 or 2 person sea kayaks are the ideal alternative or an excellent addition to our exciting whitewater raft tours.
  • Our 2 person sea kayaks rent for $10 per person per hour; our 1 person sea kayaks rent for $15 per hour.
  • To enhance your experience on Carlton Lake, guides, though not necessary, can be hired for $20 per hour (shared by everyone in your group).
Sea kayak rentals are subject to a one hour minimum (1.5 hour minimum if guided). For a maximum experience, we recommend 2 hours for a guided tour and 1.5 hours for non-guided. The maximum time will provide a more leisurely pace with an opportunity to see more.

If you choose to rent without a guide, you can see many features in just one hour. We recommend one and a half hours to see the nicest features at a leisurely pace. If you choose to extend your sea kayak adventure, you may be able to obtain more time on the lake with a cell phone call. You can guarantee your start time by calling us at (218) 384-4637, or take your chances on boat and/or guide availability by just showing up at our office. Be sure to bring clothes and shoes that can get wet, and a towel. Cell phones, cameras, and water (or something else to drink) are highly recommended. We'll provide free waterproof containers for your personal items. Keep in mind, we have no changing rooms or public rest rooms at either our office or at the lake.
